Öz

Adolescence may be defined as the period within the lifespan when biological, cognitive, psychological, and social characteristics are changing from what is typically considered childlike to what is considired adult-like. Unfortunately, some adolescents are faced with personal, social, and environmental obstacles to their development of identity, and may experience psycho-social problems as well. Moreover, in recent years adolescent problem behaviors have been increasing in Turkey. The main purpose of the present study was to examine the relationship between emotional and behavioral problem behaviors and ratings on locus of
control among a group of high school students. The sample consisted of 308 students from urban high schools in İzmir, Turkey. Materials used included measures of adjustment, perceived health, and locus of control. Pearson
correlation, t-test, one-way ANOVA and Scheffe tests were used to analyze data. Results indicated that there was a significant relationship between both emotional and behavioral problems and locus of control for students in our
sample. Emotional and behavioral problem behaviors were also found to be related to gender, perceived harmony among parents, and the psychological adjustment of other family members.

LİSE ÖĞRENCİLERİNDE GÖRÜLEN DUYGUSAL VE DAVRANIŞSAL PROBLEMLER İLE DENETİM ODAĞI ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Öz

Çocukluktan yetişkinliğe geçişte yer alan ergenlik döneminde biyolojik, bilişsel, psikolojik ve sosyal değişimlerin bir arada yaşanması bazı ergenler için problem davranışların ortaya çıkması açısından uygun bir zemin hazırlamaktadır. Özellikle son yıllarda yapılan çalışmalar, ergenlik döneminde yaşanan problem davranışların görülme sıklığında bir artış yaşandığına dikkati çekmektedir.  Bu araştırmanın amacı, İzmir il merkezinde bulunan resmi liselerde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin duygusal ve davranışsal problemleri ile denetim odağı düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi saptamaktır. Araştırmanın örneklemini İzmir il merkezinde bulunan ortaöğretim kurumlarında öğrenim gören toplam 308 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama araçları olarak, Sağlıklı Davranışlar Ölçeği (SDÖ); İç Dış Kontrol Odağı Ölçeği (RİDKOÖ) ve kişisel bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde, korelasyon analizi, “t” testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi yapılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına genel olarak bakıldığında, duygusal ve davranışsal problemler ile denetim odağı arasında pozitif yönde  anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu görülmektedir. Ayrıca elde edilen bulgulara göre öğrencilerin duygusal ve davranışsal problemlerinin cinsiyet, anne babanın anlaşma düzeyi ve aile üyeleri arasında psikolojik bir rahatsızlık olması değişkenlerine göre anlamlı düzeyde farklılaştığı belirlenmiştir.
