Participation Banks: A Suitable Environment For Workplace Spirituality

Abstract

Participation banking is a banking system that operates on a profit and loss sharing basis and foresees risk sharing. In this system, islamic principles are taken into consideration. Although it is known as, participation banking in Turkey, it is pervasively known as interest-free banking or islamic banking in most other countries.Participation Banks, which are getting more and more important in the banking system, are of great importance in terms of bringing the savings of people with interest sensitivity to the economy and attracting similar foreign funds to the country.In this study, firstly, the concept of participation banking and the concept of workplace spirituality which is a trend new concept in the field of organizational behavior that focuses on the spirituality of individuals in the workplace will be elaborated in details and then it will be tried to explain why participation banking is a suitable environment for workplace spirituality.To this end, the conceptual realities underlying these two concepts and the points of contact between them will be explained.
