TEACHERS’ VIEWS ABOUT THE CAUSES OF FAILURE OF THE SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the causes of failure of the secondary school students according to teachers’ views. The study has been carried out with the semi-structured interview form as including all the institutions of the general secondary education which are in Hakkari, applying to the views of some of the teachers working in these schools. 54 teachers’ interview forms from 220 teachers in 12 schools have been evaluated. Five open ended questions have been asked in data collection tool and frequencies have been examined in the data analysis. In total, 113 causes of failure have been stated for the students, parents, teachers and regional dimensions.

ORTAÖĞRETİM ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN BAŞARISIZLIK NEDENLERİNE İLİŞKİN ÖĞRETMEN GÖRÜŞLERİ

Öz

Bu araştırmanın amacı, orta öğretim düzeyindeki öğrencilerin başarısızlık nedenlerini öğretmen görüşlerine göre tespit etmektir. Araştırma, yarıyapılandırılmış mülakat formuyla Hakkâri ilindeki genel orta öğretim kurumlarını kapsayacak şekilde bu kurumlarda çalışan öğretmenlerin bir kısmınıngörüşlerine başvurularak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Toplam 12 okulda, 220 öğretmenden 54 öğretmenin formu değerlendirmeye alınmıştır. Veri toplama aracındabeş açık uçlu soru sorulmuş ve verilerin analizinde frekanslara bakılmıştır.Öğrenci, yönetim, veli, öğretmen ve bölgesel boyutlarda toplam 113 başarısızlıknedeni ifade edilmiştir
