LEADERSHIP TEACHING IN LIFE SCIENCE COURSE CURRICULUM

Abstract

Leadership is one of the most discussed concepts of social sciences. With this property, leadership can be described as affecting individuals systematically, activating and guidance process in the context of over all goals. Although there are many theories related to the leadership, the understanding of leadership that it may occur in individuals in the context of different knowledge, skill, behaviour and leadership is not a whole of innate property; caused to the start of different researches and studies due to the teaching of leadership. There is an important consensus on improving of leadership at individuals especially teaching in early ages and on the topic of reinforcing with systematic educational leadership programme prepared due to this. In this context education programs are important resources. In this context, the content, the aim and the properties of Science lesson taught in the first stage of the primary level is to develop their leadership skills. Especially, the teaching of life skills-based lesson constitutes on effective base for the leadership skills with teacher activities, supportive school climate and family contribution. In this study, the gains and activities of leadership teaching in life science lesson teaching programme which was restructured in 2005 and taught at first three classes of primary schools will be discussed and different proposals presented. Also, the availability of leadership teaching, with supportive factors in the context of different theories of leadership will be discussed.
