PROBLEM BASED LEARNING: THE EPITOME OF CONSTRUCTIVISM

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine problem based learning that is one of the methods of constructivist learning approach and to discuss its application level in Turkey. Problem based learning is structured around a problem scenario that is almost real or possible to meet in real life. Students are actively involved in determining the problem and solving the problem by working in groups. In this study, the stages of problem solving and problem based learning are examined through related theories and the level of application in Turkey is explained with results and suggestions.
