THE EXAMINATION OF THE EFFECTS OF TEACHING ACTIVITIES BASED ON SOCIAL LEARNING THEY TO THE SCIENTIFIC ATTITUDES OF STUDENTS IN SCIENCE TEACHING
Abstract
In this study, application results concerning teaching activities based on Social
Learning Theory are examined with the aim of developing scientific attitudes of primary
school students. The research is applied on three different testing and control groups who
are attending the 7th grade at primary schools and who have similar socio-economic
conditions. While teaching activities and applications based on Social Learning Theory are
carried out in testing groups, teaching activities which are related to current science
curriculum are carried out in control groups. Data were gathered by the pre-test and the
final test of the scales which were prepared by researcher. The results of the study
indicated that teaching activities based on Social Learning Theory in the testing group has a
great effect in developing students’ scientific attitudes.
