The purpose of this study is to examine the motivation towards science learning and scientific creativity levels of secondary school students according to different variables, and to present the relation between motivations and scientific creativities aimed. It is also purposed to determine the factors which motivate students. For this purpose, mix method design was selected, in which quantitative and qualitative data collection tools were used, 484 secondary school students form working group of research. Motivation Scale, Scientific Creativity Scale and Feedback Form aimed at learning science were used as data collection tool. At the end of research, it was observed that motivation and scientific creativity of girl students aimed at learning science were higher when compared with boy students. It was determined that the more class level increased motivation and scientific creativity decreased, and the more education level of family increased motivation and creativity also increased. It was observed that scientific creativity level of group which their lesson was performed in laboratory was higher while their motivation was same regardless of place the lesson was performed. It was determined that there was a higher-up and positive relation between motivation levels and scientific creativity levels of students. Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, ortaokul öğrencilerinin fen öğrenmeye yönelik motivasyon ve bilimsel yaratıcılık düzeylerini farklı değişkenlere göre incelemek ve öğrencilerin fen öğrenmeye yönelik motivasyonları ile bilimsel yaratıcılıkları arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya koymaktır. Ayrıca öğrencileri motive eden unsurların belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla çalışmada nicel ve nitel veri toplama araçlarının kullanıldığı karma araştırma deseni seçilmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 484 ortaokul öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak Fen öğrenmeye yönelik Motivasyon Ölçeği, Bilimsel Yaratıcılık Ölçeği ve Görüş Formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda kız öğrencilerin fen öğrenmeye yönelik motivasyonlarının ve bilimsel yaratıcılıklarının erkek öğrencilere göre daha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Sınıf seviyesi arttıkça motivasyonun ve bilimsel yaratıcılığın düştüğü, ailenin eğitim seviyesi arttıkça ise motivasyon ve yaratıcılığın arttığı saptanmıştır. Öğrencilerin motivasyonları fen derslerinin yürütüldüğü mekâna göre farklılaşmazken, laboratuvarda fen derslerinin yürütüldüğü grubun bilimsel yaratıcılık düzeylerinin daha yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin motivasyon düzeyleri ile bilimsel yaratıcılık düzeyleri arasında, yüksek düzeyde, pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişkinin olduğu saptanmıştır. Öğrencileri fen öğrenmeye motive eden farklı içsel ve dışsal unsurlarının olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
