Palm Yağı Katkılı Mürekkeplerin Baskı Kalitesine Etkisinin Belirlenmesi

Yıl 2018, Cilt: 6 Sayı: 1, 533 - 537, 29.06.2018

Ofset

Determination Of The Effect Of Palm Oil İnk On Print Quality

Offset printing inks mainly
consist of pigment, solvent oil and resins. The development of ink production
to environmentally friendly resources has required that mineral-based oils used
in printing inks be replaced by oils derived from plant-based sources. There
are many industrial plants used for oil production. However, there are various
requirements for their use in offset printing inks. These requirements are
productivity and economics as well as print quality. Palm oil is an oil that is
produced in abundant quantity and has economical advantage because it has wide
usage area. Adding vegetable oils to printing ink instead of petroleum derived
mineral oil is a popular application recently for both healthy and environmental
reasons. There are a lot of studies about printing soya and similar vegetable
oils in printing inks, but studies on the use of palm oil in Cold-Set ink have
not been done sufficiently. For this reason, the purpose of the study is to
determine the effect of palm oil on newspaper ink. Different inks prepared with
mineral oil and palm oil were used in the study. Palm oil has three different
proportions (3%, 6%, 10%) of total mineral oil. For these different ratios,
viscosity, yield stress, flow, gloss, friction resistance, etc. It has been
shown that palm oil can be used for Cold-Set ink.
