A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF COMPULSORY SCHOOL TEACHERS’ JOB SATISFACTION AND JOB STRES LEVELS

Abstract

Individuals seek to opportunities to satisfy their personal needs and realize their own aims in organizational environment. Modern societies can only continue their existences with social organizations. Individuals act in organizations under the influence of some of their expectations and needs. One of the most strategic parts of a school which is accepted as a social system is teacher. The influence of teachers on human life has been stressed upon so far and evaluations directed to teachers have always been done so that the influence should be positive. The performances of teachers play a vital role in realization of the goals of a school. Two of the most important factors influencing teachers’ performance are job satisfaction and job stress. It is very important to know about factors affecting teachers’ job satisfaction and job stress levels in order to increase teachers’ performance at work. This research was done to find out compulsory school teachers’ job satisfaction, job stress levels and it was also researched whether there is a relation between their job satisfaction levels and their job stress levels, gender, age, seniority and educational level

İLKÖĞRETİM OKULU ÖĞRETMENLERİNİN İŞ DOYUMU VE İŞ STRESİ DÜZEYLERİNİN KARŞILAŞTIRMALI ANALİZİ

Öz

Bireyler örgütsel ortamda kişisel gereksinimlerini karşılama ve kendi özel amaçlarını gerçekleştirmenin yollarını ararlar. Çağdaş toplumun varlığını sürdürebilmesi örgütlerle olası olmaktadır. Bireyler, örgütte bazı beklenti ve gereksinimlerinin etkisiyle hareket eder. Sosyal bir sistem olan okulun, en stratejik parçalarından birisi öğretmendir. Öğretmenin insan yaşamı üzerindeki etkisi, her dönemde vurgulanmış ve etkinin olumlu olması için öğretmene yönelik değerlendirmeler de süreklilik kazanmıştır. Öğretmenlerin göstereceği performans okulun amaçlarının gerçekleştirilmesinde önemli rol oynar. Öğretmenlerin performanslarını etkileyen en önemli etkenlerden ikisi iş doyumu ve iş stresidir. Öğretmenlerin performanslarının yükseltilmesi için iş doyumlarını ve iş streslerini etkileyen etmenlerin bilinmesi son derece önemlidir. Bu araştırmada ilköğretim okulu öğretmenlerinin iş doyumu ve iş stresi düzeyleri ve iş doyumu ile iş stresi düzeyleri ile cinsiyet, yaş, hizmet süresi ve öğrenim durumu değişkenleri arasında anlamlı bir ilişkinin olup olmadığı araştırılmıştır.
