A Research Intended For Determining Hygiene Habits: The Case Of Ataturk University Tourism Faculty
Abstract
The suitability to the health conditions and the hygiene conditions of the tourism enterprises are so important for the customers. It is important that tourism graduate students’ who are the potential personnels at accomadation and food and beverage enterprises hygiene habits. In this direction the purpose of this study is to determine the hygiene habits of the tourism undergraduate students and a number of demographic characteristics of the students show significant differences with regards to the hygiene habits. For this purpose, the universe of research is students of Erzurum Atatürk University Tourism Faculty and the students who work tourism sector compose the sample of research and the datas were collected via survey technique. In order to reach the purpose, variance analyzes (parametric) were applied to the datas which has obtained from the participants. According to these tests, in terms of the hygiene habits of students, significant differences were identified. In addition, it has been determined that students of gastronomy and culinary arts department are more careful and sensetive to personnel hygiene, food hygiene and kitchen tools hygiene than students of tourism management department. Different tourism faculty students can made comparison. Than faculty curriculum which is more useful than others about hygiene will examined and it will used.
