Aşırı Turizmin Yerel Halkın Genel Yaşam Kalitesine Etkileri: Safranbolu Tarihi (Eski) Çarşı Örneği

Aşırı turizm (overtourism) son yıllarda popüler turistik destinasyonlar açısından önemli bir sorun haline gelmiştir. UNESCO Dünya Mirası Listesi'nde yer alan Safranbolu da artan ziyaretçi sayılarıyla birlikte bu durumdan etkilenen destinasyonlardan biridir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, Safranbolu'da yerel halkın aşırı turizm algısıyla genel yaşam kalitesi arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Araştırma kapsamında Safranbolu'nun tarihi (eski) çarşı bölgesinde ve çevresinde ikamet eden 290 yerli halka ile yüz yüze anket uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada, yerel halkın aşırı turizmin etkileri ile genel yaşam kalitesine etkisi faktör analizi, korelasyon ve çoklu regresyon analizleri ile test edilmiştir. Bulgular, aşırı turizmin ekonomik ve sosyal etkilerinin yaşam kalitesini olumlu yönde etkilediğini; çevresel ve kültürel etkilerin ise anlamlı bir etkisinin olmadığını ortaya koymaktadır.

The Effects of Excessive Tourism on the General Quality of Life of Local People: The Case of Safranbolu Historical (Old) Bazaar

Öz

Overtourism has become a major problem for popular destinations in recent years, and Safranbolu has been affected by the increasing number of visitors. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the perception of overtourism and the general quality of life of local people in Safranbolu. Within the scope of the research, a face-to-face survey was conducted with 290 local people residing in and around the historical (old) bazaar area of Safranbolu. In the study, the relationship between local people's perception of overtourism and quality of life was analyzed by factor analysis, correlation and multiple regression. The findings show that economic and social impacts positively affect quality of life, while environmental and cultural impacts are not significant.
