Öz

Bu makale başta Sovyetler Birliği olmak üzere sosyalist devletlerin ve bazı devlet dışı aktörlerin İsrail’e ve Arap-İsrail çatışmasına bakışını ve otuz yıllık bir dönem içinde bu politikalarda meydana gelen değişimi incelemektedir. Makalede İkinci Dünya Savaşı esnasında ve sonrasında Sovyetler Birliği’nin bir yandan Yahudilerin kendi devletlerine sahip olmaları gerektiğini savunduğu, diğer yandan Arap devletlerine karşı mesafeli ve şüpheci yaklaştığı vurgulanmakta, ardından 1950’lerde İsrail Batı ülkelerinden destek almaya yönelirken bölgede Batı karşıtı Arap rejimlerinin kurulmasıyla Sovyetler Birliği’nin tutum değiştirmeye başladığı ortaya konulmaktadır. 1967 sonrasında sol eğilimli Filistinli hareketlerin aktif mücadeleye girişmesinin de sosyalist aktörlerin tutum değişikliğinde etkili olduğunun altını çizen makale, bununla birlikte Sovyetler Birliği’nin ve diğer sosyalist ülkelerin Filistin ulusal hareketinin siyasi amaçlarını paylaşmadığını ve yöntemlerini onaylamadığını farklı örnekler üzerinden göstermektedir.

The Attitude of Socialist States and Movements Towards Israel: Gradual Change from 1940’s to 1970’s

Öz

This article examines the views of socialist states, primarily the Soviet Union, and certain non-state actors towards Israel and the Arab-Israeli conflict, as well as the changes that occurred in their policies over a thirty-year period. The article emphasizes that during and after World War II, the Soviet Union argued that Jews should have their own state, and it maintained a distant and skeptical attitude towards Arab states. It then reveals that in the 1950’s, as Israel turned to Western countries for support and with the establishment of anti-Western Arab regimes in the region, the Soviet Union began to change its stance. The article underscores that the active struggle of left-leaning Palestinian movements after 1967 also influenced the change in attitude of socialist actors. However, it also demonstrates through various examples that the Soviet Union and other socialist countries did not share the political goals of the Palestinian national movement and did not approve of its methods.
