An Examination of Male Consumers' Preferences for Trouser Models

Öz

Trousers are a fundamental piece of men's clothing. Different situations, such as work life, events, and seasons, can influence trouser preferences. This study aims to reveal changing behaviors and situations by analyzing the demographic and physical characteristics that determine men's trouser preferences. It will reveal the performance-influencing features of trousers, both in terms of their characteristics and their personal importance. The study makes significant contributions to the literature by demonstrating empirical data on the relationship between body type, age, weight, and trouser styles. The research population consists of male personnel working at Niğde Omer Halisdemir University and male history of growing up and seeing. Adopting a survey (questionnaire) model from quantitative research methods, the results were collected using questionnaire formulas that were learned by the researchers and whose validity and reliability studies were performed. The developed scale was collected from 452 individuals reached using the snowball hand-holding method. The obtained data were analyzed using the Jamovi statistical program. Percentage analyses and the Spermanent explanatory test were performed to increase the ratios between variables. The test results revealed variables showing a positive distribution above 0.5 or a negative change below -0.5. Signatures were found between age, body type, and weight variables and preferred pant styles. Age was found to have a moderately significant effect on the preference for Regular and Cargo pants, but no effect on the preference for Slim Fit, Casual, and Jogger pants. Body type had a moderately and slightly significant effect on the preference for Regular and Casual pants, respectively, while a persistent difference was observed in the preference for Slim Fit, Jogger, and Cargo pants. Weight had a moderately significant effect on the preference for Cargo pants, but did not affect the preference levels for Slim Fit, Regular, Casual, and Jogger pants. This highlights the need for physical freedom in unique, target-audience pattern and model designs.
