Öz

Bu çalışmanın amacı, matematik becerilerinin öğretiminde uygulanan nokta belirleme tekniğinin kuramsal temelleri ve uygulamaları hakkında bilgi vermek ve yapılan ulusal ve uluslararası çalışmaları inceleyerek belirli kriterler doğrultusunda değerlendirmektir. Nokta belirleme tekniği (Touch Math), temel matematik becerileri kazandırmada kullanılan çoklu duyuya hitap eden bir tekniktir. Bu teknik ile öğrenciler, rakamları görür, rakamların üzerindeki rakam sayısı kadar olan noktalara dokunur, noktaları sayar ve sonuca ulaşır. Öğrenciler hesaplama işlemlerini somut ve sembolik düzeyde yapmayı öğrenirler. 1’den 9’a kadar her bir rakamda referans noktaları bulunur. 1 ile 5 arasındaki rakamlar kendi değeri kadar nokta içerirken, 6'dan sonra noktaların üzerinde daireler de belirmeye başlar; bu da noktaların iki kez sayılacağını işaret eder. Yenilikçi öğrenme yaklaşımını temel alan nokta belirleme tekniği ile ilgili araştırmaların gözden geçirilmesi ve ayrıntılı olarak değerlendirilmesinin özel eğitim ve genel eğitim alanyazını açısından önemli olacağı düşünülmektedir. Araştırmada 1993-2012 yılları arasında yapılan ulusal ve uluslarası toplam 25 çalışmaya ulaşılmıştır. Gözden geçirilen araştırmalar, çalışmanın amaçları doğrultusunda içerik analizi yapılarak nitel ve deneysel çalışmalar olarak kategorize edilmiştir
