Öz
Based on the fact that the success of human beings in
their professions and social lives depends on how they use the language
effectively, it is likely to say that qualified Turkish teachers would train
students using the language in an effective manner. In this respect, supervisions
having the purpose of developing Turkish teachers and education being provided
become significant for an effective education process. Based on the opinions of Turkish teachers,
supervisions are evaluated in this study. The study group of the research consists
of 20 Turkish teachers working in the central districts of Konya in 2012-2013
academic year. The data were collected by means of semi-structured interview
method in the research. The collected
data were coded by analyzing them through the content analysis method and
themes were formed based on these codes. According to the results, Turkish
teachers have reported that; supervisions are done in a way of document
examination looking for something lacks, they do not think that supervisions
which are carried out by attending just a single class once or twice a year are
not adequate, it is necessary to
consider the assessments of students, parents, administrators and other
teachers in addition to the success of students, and the most important
features that teachers must have include
being open to learning, communication skills and the success of their
students.
