Öz

The purpose of this study was to invastigate high school student’s problem solving approaches and their demographic characteristics on peer pressure . The participants of this study were 368 randomly selected high school students who were attending three different prgrams. Data were collected by using the Peer Pressure Scale (Kıran, 2003), the Problem Solving Inventory (Heppner ve Petersen, 1982) and a form for determining demographic characteristics of the participants. Data were analyzed by employing stepwise regression and ANOVA. The results of the study showed that peer pressure was predicted by the gender, mother’ level of education, the use of hasty and personal control problem solving approaches, and, type of school attended. Results have been discussed in relation to peer pressure litetature.

LİSE ÖĞRENCİLERİNDE AKRAN BASKISI VE PROBLEM ÇÖZME

Öz

Bu çalışmanın amacı lise öğrencilerinde akran baskısının problem çözme yaklaşımları ve bazı demografik değişkenler açısından incelemektir. Örneklemi üç farklı programdaki okullardan 368 öğrenci tesadüfi oluşturmuştur. Veriler Akran Baskısı Ölçeği ( Kıran, 2003), Probem Çözme Envanteri (Heppner ve Petersen, 1982) ve demografik değişkenlere ilişkin sorulardan oluşan anketle toplanmıştır. Veriler aşamalı regresyon analizi ve varyans analizi (ANOVA) ile çözümlenmiştir. Sonuçta, akran baskısı cinsiyet, anne eğitim, aceleci problem çözme yaklaşımı, okul türü ve kişisel kontrol yaklaşımı açısından anlamlı olarak yordanmıştır.Sonuçlar yazın alanı çerçevesinde tartışılmıştır.
