Öz

Bu araştırmanın temel amacı sağlık sektöründe çalışanların sosyal medya kullanımlarının bilgi ifşası niyetleri üzerindeki etkisini belirlemektir. Bu kapsamda yerli ve yabancı literatür incelenerek araştırmanın modeli oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmanın evrenini Bingöl ilinde faaliyet gösteren bir sağlık kurumundaki çalışanlar oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama tekniği olarak anket kullanılmıştır. Anket uygulaması katılımcılarla yüz yüze, bulundukları iş sahası içinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemi 202 sağlık sektörü çalışanından oluşmaktadır. Araştırma modelinin analiz edilmesinde kısmi en küçük kareler yol analizi (PLS-SEM) kullanılmıştır. Veriler SmartPLS 4 istatistik programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan analizlerden elde edilen sonuçlara göre sosyal medya kullanımının yetkinlik boyutunun formal bilgi ifşası üzerinde anlamlı bir etkisi olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Elde edilen bu sonuca göre sosyal medya ne kadar etkin bir şekilde kullanılıyorsa, bireyin formal bilgi ifşasında bulunma eğilimi de artış göstermektedir. Sosyal medya kullanımındaki yetkinlik, kişilerin sosyal medya araçlarını nasıl kullanacaklarına dair becerilerini ve bilgilerini kapsar. Eğer bir kişi, sosyal medyada aktif ve etkili bir şekilde fikirlerini paylaşabiliyorsa, bu kişi aynı zamanda çalıştığı iş yerindeki yanlışlıkları ifşa etmek için de dijital platformları kullanma konusunda daha istekli olabilmektedir.

THE ROLE OF SOCIAL MEDIA USE IN THE WHISTLEBLOWING PROCESS

Öz

The main purpose of this research is to determine the effect of social media usage of employees in the health sector on their intention to whistleblowing. In this context, the research model was created by examining domestic and foreign literature. The universe of the study consists of employees working in a health institution operating in Bingöl province. A survey was used as a data collection technique in the study and was conducted face to face with the participants in their workplace. The sample of the study consists of 202 health sector employees. Partial least squares path analysis (PLS-SEM) was used to analyze the research model. Data were analyzed using the SmartPLS 4 statistical program. According to the results obtained from the analyses, it was determined that the competence dimension of social media use had a significant effect on formal whistleblowing. According to this result, the more effectively social media is used, the more the individual's tendency to formal whistleblowing increases. Social media competence encompasses a person's skills and knowledge of how to use social media tools. If a person can actively and effectively share their opinions on social media, they may also be more willing to use digital platforms to expose workplace wrongdoing.
