24th January Decisions Neo-Liberal Policies and Agriculture of Turkey

Öz

This study aims to discuss how the Neo-liberal economy policies, which has been affecting whole the world for about last 30 years, affected the agriculture of Turkey after the decisions of 24th January 1980. After a short brief of the Neo-liberal economy policies and discourses, the effects of such policies on the agricultural development, production, exportation, unemployment, privatization and agricultural subventions in Turkey are discussed. In the discussion, in account of agriculture, changing from being a self-sufficient country to a dependent one, migration from rural area to cities, poverty unemployment in context of Neo-liberal policies and the Decisions of 24th January are handled.

24 OCAK KARARLARI, NEO-LİBERAL POLİTİKALAR VE TÜRKİYE TARIMI

Öz

Bu çalışma son 30 yıldır tüm dünyayı etkileyen neo-liberal ekonomi politikalarının Türkiye’de 24 Ocak 1980 Kararları ile birlikte bu kararların Türkiye tarımını nasıl etkilediğini tartışmayı hedeflemektedir. Neo-liberal ekonomi politikaları ve söylemlerinin kısaca özetlenmesinden sonra, bu politikaların 1980 sonrası dönemde Türkiye’de uygulanması sonucunda tarımsal gelişm, tarımsal üretim, ihracat-ithalat, işsizlik, özelleştirme ve tarım destek politikaları gibi konularda ortaya çıkan durumlar ele alınıp tartışılmıştır.
