ANALYSIS OF CONSUMER ATTITUDES AND BEHAVIOURS IN THE TRANSITION TO CIRCULAR ECONOMY

Öz

Circular economy (CE) is an alternative economic model to the “take-make-use-dispose” model of traditional linear economics, focusing on maximizing the lifetime of resources. In this context, understanding consumers' attitudes and behaviors towards circular products can contribute to the development of sustainable consumption habits. In the literature, although consumers have been accepted as key actors of the CE cycle, research on the analysis of their attitudes and behaviors is limited. For this reason, the study aims to analyze consumer attitudes and behaviors in the transition to CE. For this purpose, 238 online surveys were conducted between March and July 2024 using convenience sampling method. Partial least squares method and structural equation modeling were used in data analysis. According to the findings of the study, participants recognize the environmental and economic benefits of CE, which affects their consumption habits and attitudes. Consumer attitudes towards circular products stand out as the most important predictor of circular purchasing behavior.

DÖNGÜSEL EKONOMİYE GEÇİŞTE TÜKETİCİ TUTUM VE DAVRANIŞLARININ ANALİZİ

Yıl 2025, Sayı: 71, 65 - 85
https://doi.org/10.30794/pausbed.1711828

Öz

Döngüsel ekonomi (DE), kaynakların kullanım ömrünün maksimize edilmesine odaklanan, geleneksel doğrusal ekonominin “al-yap-kullan-at” modeline alternatif bir ekonomik modeldir.
