Yenidoğanda Yaygın Tutulum Gösteren Grup B Streptokok Enfeksiyonu: Olgu Sunumu

Öz

Giriş: Yenidoğan periyodunda Grup B streptokok kaynaklı sepsis ve diğer enfeksiyonlarhayatın erken döneminde erken başlangıçlı sepsis ve geç döneminde geç başlangıçlısepsis görülür. Olgu Sunumu: Yenidoğan hastada sepsis, menenjit, ventrikülit, osteomiyelit ve absegelişimi ile giden multifokal grup B streptokok infeksiyonu olgusu sunulmuştur. Ventrikülitsıklıkla grup B streptokokkal menenjit sonrası gelişen bir komplikasyondur.Tartışma: Multifokal grup B streptokok infeksiyonu nadir görülür ve tedaviye dirençli yada hidrosefali gelişen hastalarda grup B streptokokkal ventrikülitten şüphelenilmelidir

Multifocal Group B Streptococcal Infection in a Newborn: Case Report

Abstract

Introduction: Group B streptococci cause sepsis and other infections in newbornsvery early in life early-onset sepsis and also later late-onset sepsis in the newbornperiod. Case Report: A case of multifocal group B streptococcal infection with sepsis,meningitis, ventriculitis, osteomyelitis and abscesses in a newborn infant was reported.Ventriculitis is often thought of as a secondary complication of acute group Bstreptococcal meningitis.Conclusion: Multifocal group B streptococcal infection is rare and group B streptococcalventriculitis should be suspected in cases that are refractory to treatment or in patientswho later develop hydrocephalus
