META-ANALİZİN GENEL BİR DEĞERLENDİRMESİ

The more the number of the studies increases in an area, the methods, used in the process of designing the study, differentiates. Meta-analysis brings a different view to the literature review. Meta-analysis makes it possible to synthesize the results of a group of studies on a certain topic in a combinable, systematic, and objective way. This article purposes to
provide general information on meta-analysis without going into the detailed understanding regarding the methodological obstacles of the method. The important aspects that affect the quality of a meta-analysis study are also discussed. 

Bir alandaki çalÕúmalarÕn sayÕsÕ arttÕkça içeri÷indeki çeúitlenme kadar, çalÕúmanÕn gerçekleútirilme aúamasÕnda kullanÕlan metotlar da çeúitlenme gösterir. Meta-analiz, literatür tarama yöntemlerine yeni bir bakÕú açÕsÕ getirir; bir konudaki farklÕ araútÕrma sonuçlarÕnÕn bütünleútirici, sistematik ve objektif bir yaklaúÕmla sentezini mümkün kÕlar. Bu makale meta-analiz hakkÕnda metotla ilgili problemlere de÷inen detaylÕ bir kavrayÕú sa÷lamaktan ziyade genel bir bilgi sunmayÕ amaçlar. Bunun yanÕ sÕra meta-analiz çalÕúmasÕnÕn niteli÷ini etkileyebilecek önemli hususlar da tartÕúÕlmÕútÕr.
