Career wisdom is the combination of cognitive, emotional, and intuitive skills that enable individuals to navigate uncertain career challenges. The literature considers the 4E model, which integrates rational career strategies with intuitive and flexible decision-making processes, a valuable approach for helping individuals make more informed career choices in an evolving job market. Career wisdom encompasses individuals’ ability to cope with uncertainty and complex career-related difficulties.
This study aims to adapt the Career Wisdom Development Scale into Turkish and examine its psychometric properties. To ensure the scale's validity and reliability, the adaptation process involved content validity, a pilot study, expert evaluations, construct validity, discriminant validity, item analysis, and reliability assessments.
This study represents the initial psychometric adaptation of the Career Wisdom Scale into Turkish, addressing the cultural and conceptual equivalence in a new context. Consequently, the Turkish adaptation of the Career Wisdom Development Scale was found to be valid and reliable within the Turkish sample, retaining its three-dimensional structure: Embracing Ignorance, Embracing Intuition, and Embracing Vulnerability. Adapting this scale into Turkish offers a valuable tool for evaluating and interpreting individuals' decision-making processes in their career journeys. By advancing the measurement of career wisdom, this study establishes a foundation for future research. Furthermore, due to its thorough scale adaptation process, it will act as a crucial resource for upcoming researchers.
