In order to investigate the self-perception of body image and to determine body dissatisfaction among preschool children, 471 children aged 4-6 years (225 girls and 246 boys) were interviewed regarding their body image and their satisfaction using figural stimuli. The descriptive statistics and the Spearman’s rho correlation test results indicated that (1) children’s body ratings started to be significantly related to their BMIs at age 5 and correlations increased with age (rho= 0.40, p<0.001; rho=0.63, p<0.001, respectively 5 and 6 years of age), (2) girls aged five and six were more likely to perceive their own body size to be thinner than boys (aged five girls 40.2%, boys 23.5%; aged six girls 35.3, boys 29.9 %) (3) children aged five mostly tended to select overweight (28.8 %) and obese figures (29.3 %) as healthy, children % 28.8’i riskli kilolu ve % 26.3’ü normal imajı sağlıklı olarak algılama eğilimindedir (4) çocukların % 52.7’si sağlıklı olmak için çoğunlukla çok yemek gerektiğini düşünmektedir.
