TRABZON'UN SÜRMENE VE ARAKLI AĞIZLARININ KUŞAKLARARASI AĞIZ KULLANIMI VE AĞIZ ÖLÇÜNLÜLEŞMESİ ÇERÇEVESİNDE İNCELENMESİ

Öz

Bu çalışmanın temel amacı; Trabzon ağzının Sürmene ve Araklı değişkelerinde kuşaklararası ağız kullanımı bağlamında ağız ölçünlüleşmesini incelemektir. Bu kuramsal çerçevede çalışmanın dilbilimsel amacı Trabzon ağzının Sürmene ve Araklı değişkeleri konuşurlarının oluşturduğu ağız topluluklarının toplumsal, bireysel, kamusal, sosyo-ekonomik ve demografik durumları dikkate alınarak ağız ölçünlüleşmesi durumunu ve bu durumlara yol açan etmenleri saptayarak incelemektir. Dünyada ağızların kullanımı ölçünlü dile meyleden değişkelerde kuşaklararası olası farkını saptamak amacıyla toplumdilbilimsel incelemeler ağız ölçünlüleşmesi (İng. dialect levelling) kuramı çerçevesinde yapılmıştır. Bu doğrultuda, bu çalışmada yer alan katılımcılar, farklı toplumsal değişkenlerin yanı sıra Trabzon ağzının Sürmene ve Araklı değişkelerini konuşan değişik kuşak gruplarından oluşan bireyler arasından seçilmiştir. Bu bağlamda ilk aşamada katılımcıların ağız geçmişleri hakkında ön bilgi edinmek amacıyla (28 alt kuşak, 39 orta kuşak, 32 üst kuşak) toplamda doksan dokuz katılımcıya bu makale için geliştirilmiş olan bir Ağız Kullanımı Anketi uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen sayısal veriler, nicel çözümleme yazılımı SPSS programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiş ve elde edilen bulgular ilgili alanyazına uygun nicel çözümleme yöntemleriyle yorumlanmıştır. Nicel verileri desteklemek için nitel veri elde etmek amacıyla katılımcılara konuştukları değişkelerin kuşaklararası düzleşmeyi sorgulayan yüz yüze görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu görüşmelerden elde edilen görüşme verileri yazıya aktarılarak tematik sınıflandırmaları yapılmıştır.

INVESTIGATING INTERGENERATIONAL DIFFERENCES OF SÜRMENE AND ARAKLI VARIETIES OF TRABZON DIALECT WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF DIALECT LEVELLING

Öz

The main aim of the present study is to examine the dialect levelling in the Sürmene and Araklı varieties of Trabzon dialect in the context of intergenerational dialect usage. Within this theoretical framework, the linguistic aim of the study is to investigate the dialect levelling construct in the speech communities formed by speakers of the Sürmene and Araklı varieties of the Trabzon dialect, considering their social, individual, public, socio-economic, and demographic backgrounds, and to identify the factors contributing to this phenomenon. To determine the potential intergenerational differences in the use of dialects leaning towards the standard language, sociolinguistic investigations have been conducted within the framework of the dialect levelling theory. In this regard, the participants in this study were selected from individuals who speak the Sürmene and Araklı varieties of the Trabzon dialect belonging to different generational groups, taking into account various social variables. In the initial stage, to gather preliminary information about the participants’ dialect histories, a Dialect Usage Questionnaire specifically developed for this thesis was administered to a total of ninety-nine participants (28 lower generation, 39 middle generation, 32 upper generation). The numerical data obtained were analyzed using the SPSS software for quantitative analysis, and the findings were interpreted using appropriate quantitative analysis methods in accordance with relevant literature. In order to support the quantitative data with qualitative information, face-to-face interviews were conducted with the participants, questioning the intergenerational levelling of the dialects they speak. The interview data obtained were transcribed and thematically classified.
