THE EFFECT OF ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE TO DYNAMİC CAPABILITIES

Öz

The aim of this study is to detect the effect of the organizational culture on dynamic capabilities. It will be tried to be found out that which types of clan, adhocracy, hierarchy, and market culture affect positively and negatively the presence of dynamic capabilities. According to the literature, these effects are investigated separately for three dimensions of dynamic capabilities such as sensing opportunities, seizing opportunities and reconfiguration. Since there is no previous study for the effects of organizational culture in the existence of dynamic capabilities, it has been a pioneer study. Empirical evidence was obtained from 78 firms, which are record holder of corporate tax in 2012 and registered to Trabzon Chamber of Commerce. The finding revealed that adhocracy and market culture types positively affect dynamic capabilities in general. Moreover, clan culture negatively affects dynamic capabilities in general. Hierarchy culture has no effect on dynamic capabilities in general.

ÖRGÜT KÜLTÜRÜNÜN DİNAMİK YETENEKLERE ETKİSİ

Öz

Bu çalışmanın amacı, örgüt kültürünün, dinamik yetenekler üzerindeki etkisini tespit edebilmektedir. Klan, adhokrasi, hiyerarşi ve pazar kültür tiplerinden hangilerinin dinamik yeteneklerin varlığını pozitif, hangilerinin negatif etkilediği ortaya konulmaya çalışılacaktır. Söz konusu etkiler literatürde sınıflandırıldığı şekli ile fırsatları sezme, fırsatları yakalama ve yeniden yapılandırma biçiminde dinamik yetenekler boyutları ile ayrı ayrı ele alınmaktadır. Daha önce dinamik yeteneklerin var oluşunda örgüt kültürünün etkisine yönelik bir çalışma bulunmadığı için çalışma öncül bir çalışma olmuştur. Çalışmada, Trabzon Ticaret ve Sanayi Odasına kayıtlı, dinamik yeteneklere sahip olduğu düşünülen, 2012 yılı kurumlar vergisi rekortmeni olan ilk 100 firmanın 78'nden toplanan veriler kullanılmıştır. Çalışma bulgularına göre, pazar kültürü ve adhokrasi kültürlerinin dinamik yetenekleri pozitif yönde etkilediğini tespit edilmiştir. Diğer yandan, klan kültürünün dinamik yetenekleri negatif yönde etkilediği görülmüştür. Hiyerarşi kültürünün dinamik yetenekler üzerinde bir etkisi bulunamamıştır.
