Altı-12 Aylık Bebeklerin Anne Sütü ile Beslenme Durumlarının ve Tamamlayıcı Beslenme Uygulamalarının Değerlendirilmesi

Öz

Giriş: Yaşamın ilk yılı büyümenin en hızlı gerçekleştiği dönemdir. Anne sütü ile beslenme süresi ve tamamlayıcı beslenme uygulamaları, annelerin özelliklerine, ülkelere ve bölgelere göre farklılık gösterebilmektedir. Popülasyona özgü stratejiler geliştirmek için toplumun taranması ve değerlendirilmesi önemlidir.
Amaç: Bu araştırma, 6-12 aylık bebeklerin anne sütü ile beslenme durumlarının ve tamamlayıcı beslenme uygulamalarının değerlendirilmesi amacıyla yapıldı.
Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel olarak planlanan bu araştırma, araştırmayı katılmayı kabul eden 536 anne-bebek çifti ile gerçekleştirildi. Verilerin toplanmasında anne ve bebeğe ait bilgilerin yer aldığı Kişisel Bilgi Formu kullanıldı.
Bulgular: Tek başına anne sütü ile beslenme süresi 4,26 ± 1,97 ay olduğu saptandı. Tamamlayıcı beslenmeye ise
22,62 ± 2,79 haftada başlandığı bulundu. Lise ve lisans-lisansüstü mezunu annelerin ilkokul mezunu annelere kıyasla istatistiksel olarak daha uzun süre tek başına anne sütü verdikleri belirlendi (p < 0,05). Annelerin %86,5’inin bebeklerine ilk tamamlayıcı besin olarak yoğurt verdikleri, ilk bir yaş içerisinde bebeklerin %42,9’unun tuz, %20
,8’inin şeker ve %14,7’sinin ise bal tükettikleri saptandı.
Sonuç: Tamamlayıcı beslenmeye 6 aydan önce başlandığı, annelerin eğitim düzeyi arttıkça sadece anne sütü verme süresinin arttığı belirlendi. Annelerin bebek beslenmesindeki eksikliklerinin önlenmesinde, anne sütü ve tamamlayıcı beslenme konusundaki eğitimlerin arttırılmasının önemli olduğu düşünüldü. Evaluation of Breast Milk Nutrition and Complementary Feeding Practices of 6-12 Month-old Babies

Öz

Introduction: The period in which growth is most rapid is the first year of life. The duration of breastfeeding and complementary feeding practices may differ according to the characteristics of mothers, countries, and regions. It is important to screen and evaluate the population to develop population-specific strategies.
Aim: This study was conducted to evaluate the breastfeeding status and complementary feeding practices of 6 - 12
month-old babies.
Method: The descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted with 536 mother-infant couples. The Personal Information Form, which contains information about the mother and baby, was used.
Results: Exclusive breastfeeding was found 4.26 ± 1.97 months, and complementary feeding was started at 22.62 ± 2.79 weeks. Mothers with high school and undergraduate-graduate degrees fed with breast milk for a statistically longer period compared to mothers who graduated from primary school (p < 0.05). It was found that 86.5% of the mothers gave yogurt to their babies as the first complementary food, and 42.9% of the babies consumed salt, 20.8% sugar, and 14.7% honey in the first year.
Conclusion: It was determined that complementary feeding was started before 6 months, and as the education level of the mothers increased, the duration of exclusive breastfeeding increased. It was thought that it is important to increase education on breastfeeding and complementary feeding to prevent the deficiencies of mothers in
infant nutrition. It is recommended that the training given to mothers be done individually and practically, taking into account the education level of the mother.
