Transüretral Prostat Rezeksiyonu Öncesinde Tek Doz Seftriakson Profilaksisi

Özet

Bu çalışmada transuretral prostat rezeksiyonunda (TURP) tek doz seftriakson profılaksisinin etkinliği araştırılmıştır. Benign prostat hiperplazisi nedeniyle TURP uygulanan 30 hasta antibiyotik profilaksisi alıp almamak üzere randomize edildi. Ameliyat öncesi l gr seftriakson uygulanan gruptaki 19 olgunun 2'sinde (% 10.5) ve profilaksi uygulanmayan grupta yer alan 11 olgunun 5'inde (% 45.5) postoperatif dönemde üriner enfeksiyon tespit edildi, Grup I ve II arasında postoperatif bakterimi sıklığı açısından istatistiksel anlamlılık vardı (p=0.032). Profilaktik amaçla ameliyat öncesi l gr seftriakson uygulanması TURP sonrasında ortaya çıkabilecek olan enfektif komplikasyonlardan kaçınmak için güvenli bir seçenektir. Bu yaklaşım ile ayrıca ameliyat sonrası uzun süreli antibiyotik kullanımına göre maliyet oldukça düşmektedir.

Abstract


Single Shot Ceftriaxone Prophylaxis Prior to Transurethral Resection of Prostate

The purpose ofthis study was to evaluate the effectiveness of single-dose ceftriaxone in transurethral resection ofprostate (TURP). A total of 30 consecutive patients undergoing TURP \vere randomized to receive preoperative l gr ceftriaxone prophylaxis ör not. The postoperative urinary tract infection rates in groups receiving ör not receiving prophylaxis were 10.5 % (2/19) and 45.5 % (5/11), respectively. Postoperative bacteriuria recurrence was statistically different among both groups (p=0.032). Prophylaxis with l gr ceftriaxone vvasfoundto be safe inpreventing infective complications secondary to TURP procedure. With this kind ofprophylaxis, decline in cost will be the other benefit in comparison to long term antibiotic therapy.
