The Mediating Role of Green Production in the Effects of Sustainable Leadership on Occupational Health and Safety

Öz

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) encourage organizations and businesses to be sensitive to and take action on sustainable and green production. In particular, corporate enterprises tend to carry out their activities with sustainability in mind and report to their stakeholders. At this point, it would be appropriate to say that there are different dimensions to sustainability activities. Some of these dimensions pertain to management, some to employees, and some to production systems. Under the management dimension, the development and application of a sustainable leadership approach can be mentioned. From the perspective of employees, ensuring occupational health and safety for a decent working environment is crucial. In terms of production, sustainable production, or green production, is paramount. To analyze the relationships mentioned in this study, the Structural Equation Model (SEM) was preferred, and research questions were directed to engineers involved in green production processes in businesses to obtain answers. As a result of the study, a significant and strong relationship was found between Sustainable Leadership and Green Production. A strong and significant relationship was also encountered between Sustainable Leadership and the Occupational Safety Climate. It was observed that there is no direct significant relationship between Green Production and the Occupational Safety Climate. When considering indirect relationships, it can also be stated that there is no indirect, significant relationship formed between Sustainable Leadership and the Occupational Safety Climate through Green Production.

Sürdürülebilir Liderliğin İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği Üzerindeki Etkilerinde Yeşil Üretimin Aracılık Rolü

Öz

Birleşmiş Milletlerin Sürdürülebilir Kalkınma Amaçları (SDGs), kurumları ve işletmeleri sürdürülebilir üretim ve yeşil üretim konusunda duyarlı olmak hususunda teşvik etmektedir. Özellikle kurumsal işletmeler, faaliyetlerini gerçekleştirirken sürdürülebilirliği göz önüne alarak paydaşlarına raporlar ile duyurma eğilimde olmaktadır. Bu noktada sürdürülebilirlik faaliyetlerinin farklı boyutlarının olduğunu söylemek yerinde olacaktır. Bahsedilen bu boyutların bir kısmı yönetim, bir kısmı çalışanlar, bir kısmı ise üretim sistemleri altında yer almaktadır. Yönetim boyutu altında sürdürülebilir liderlik anlayışının geliştirilmesi ve uygulanmasından söz edilebilir. Çalışanlar açısından ele alındığında insana yakışır bir iş ortamı için iş sağlığı ve güvenliğinin (İSG) sağlanması, üretim boyutunda ise sürdürülebilir üretim yani yeşil üretim sıralanabilir. Bu çalışmada, bahsedilen bu boyutları arasındaki ilişkileri analiz edebilmek amacıyla Yapısal Eşitlik Modeli (YEM) tercih edilmiş ve işletmelerin yeşil üretim süreçlerinde görev alan mühendislere araştırma soruları yöneltilerek yanıtlar alınmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda: sürdürülebilir liderlik ile yeşil üretim arasında anlamlı ve güçlü bir ilişkinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Yine sürdürülebilir liderlik ile iş güvenliği iklimi arasında da güçlü ve anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Yeşil üretim ve iş güvenliği iklimi arasında doğrudan anlamlı bir ilişki olmadığı görülmüş, dolaylı ilişkiler ele alındığında ise sürdürülebilir liderlik ile iş güvenliği iklimi arasında yeşil üretim aracılığı ile oluşan dolaylı ve anlamlı bir ilişkiden bahsedilememiştir.
