40-Year History of Publications on Tourism and Attitude: A Bibliometric Analysis

Öz

Attitude, which is one of the main research topics of social psychology, has also been the focus of attention in tourism research. The aim of this study is to draw network maps of tourism and attitude research with bibliometric analysis method, which is one of the qualitative research methods, and to reveal the direction of development. To examine tourism and attitude research, the Web of Science was searched on June 23, 2024, and 8389 academic publications published between 1985 and 2024 were accessed. Only articles in English (6882) scanned in SSCI, SCI Expanded and ESCI indexes were evaluated. The analyzes were carried out in the VOSviewer program and according to the findings, it was seen that the relevant studies gained momentum after 2018, mostly took place in the field of hospitality, entertainment, sports and tourism, and the most publications were made by the USA. At the end of the study, practical and theoretical suggestions are given.

Turizm ve Tutum Konulu Yayınların 40 Yıllık Geçmişi: Bir Bibliyometrik Analiz

Öz

Sosyal psikolojinin temel araştırma konularından biri olan tutum, turizm araştırmalarında da ilgi odağı olmuştur. Bu çalışmanın amacı nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan bibliyometrik analiz yöntemi ile turizm ve tutum araştırmalarının ağ haritalarını çıkarmak ve gelişimin ne yönde olduğunu ortaya koymaktır. Turizm ve tutum araştırmalarını incelemek adına 23 Haziran 2024 tarihinde Web of Science’ta tarama yapılmış ve 1985-2024 yılları arasında yayımlanmış 8389 akademik yayına erişim sağlanmıştır. Yayınlardan sadece SSCI, SCI Expanded ve ESCI indekslerinde taranan İngilizce makaleler (6882) değerlendirilmiştir. Analizler VOSviewer programında gerçekleştirilmiş ve edinilen bulgulara göre ilgili çalışmaların 2018 yılından sonra ivme kazandığı, ağırlama, eğlence, spor ve turizm alanında çoğunlukla yer aldığı, en fazla yayının ABD tarafından yapıldığı görülmüştür. Çalışmanın sonunda pratik ve teorik önerilere yer verilmiştir.
