Social media applications are frequently used among adolescents. Adolescents’ perceived social support is associated with their self-esteem and well-being. For this reason, this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between adolescents’ social media use purposes and social support perception levels. In the study, which was designed as quantitative research, the relational method was used. 152 adolescents between the ages of 12 and 15 participated in the study. Research data were obtained by using personal information form, Social Media Usage Purposes Scale and Multidimensional Perceived Social Support Scale. Descriptive statistical analysis tests and Pearson correlation analysis tests were used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the research, it was determined that there is a significant, positive, and weak relationship between adolescents’ social media use purposes and social support perception levels. In addition, it has been determined that adolescents have a high extracurricular screen use time, they use social media mostly for sending and receiving messages and accessing information, and their social support perception levels are high.
