WEB TABANLI UZAKTAN EĞİTİMDE SIRA, HIZ VE İÇERİK KONTROLLERİNİN AKADEMİK BAŞARIYA ETKİSİ

Öz

Bu araştırmada, web tabanlı uzaktan eğitim sistemlerinde öğrenenlere sunulan içerik, sıra ve hız kontrollerinin öğrenenin akademik başarısı üzerindeki etkilerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma, bu genel amaç doğrultusunda web tabanlı hazırlanan Bilgisayar Ağ Sistemleri dersi ile Çorum Meslek Yüksekokulu’nda öğrenim gören öğrenciler üzerinde yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın test yapısı, ön test ve son test olarak hazırlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemi, Çorum Meslek Yüksekokulu'nda 2005-2006 öğretim yılında öğrenim gören 30 ar kişilik 3 gruba ayrılmış toplam 90 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Birinci gruba içerik kontrolü, ikinci gruba içerik ve hız kontrolleri, üçüncü ve son gruba da içerik, hız ve sıra kontrollerinin tümü ile hazırlanan dersler uygulanmıştır. Başarı testleri ile elde edilen bulgularla yapılan istatistiksel hesaplamalardan, birinci grubun, diğer iki gruptan farklı düzeyde, ikinci ve üçüncü grupların ise benzer düzeylerde başarıyı artırıcı etkiye sahip olduğu görülmüştür.

EFFECTS OF CONTENT, PACING AND SEQUENCE CONTROLS ON ACADEMIC SUCCESS IN WEB BASED DISTANCE EDUCATION

Öz

This research thesis investigates content, pacing and sequence controls offered in web-based distance learning systems and their effects on the academic success of learners. The research was performed at Corum Vocational School using prepared web-based courses and volunteer student participants who took these courses. In this research, test structure was designed using preliminary and final test models. Sampling of research consists of three equal student groups who had registered for 2005-2006 semester at Corum Vocational School. Each group consists of 30 students; thus entire sampling contains 90 students. In this study, “Computer Network Systems course” was prepared as a web-based course with three different control options and applied to three student groups. The courses are examined as the following ;content control to the first group, content and pace control to the second group and finally content, pace and sequence controls to the third group. As a result, statistical calculations were performed using the findings from preliminary and final tests. It is shown that the second and third group has a similar effect to increase the success. On the other hand, the first group has a different effect from second and third groups to boost up the success.
