Facebook Yoğunluğunun Bazı Kişilik Özellikleri İle İlişkisi

Öz
Bu çalışmada Facebook yoğunluğu ile beş
faktör kişilik özellikleri, karanlık üçlü kişilik özellikleri ve öz saygı
arasındaki ilişkilerin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma 408 (312 kadın, 94
erkek) üniversite öğrencisinin katılımıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veri toplama
aracı olarak Facebook Yoğunluğu Ölçeği, Sıfatlara Dayalı Kişilik Testi,
Karanlık Üçlü Ölçeği ve Rosenberg Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Veriler
Pearson korelasyon analizi ve hiyerarşik regresyon analizi teknikleriyle analiz
edilmiştir. Korelasyon analizi sonucunda, Facebook yoğunluğu ile Facebook’ta
online bağlı kalma süresi arasında anlamlı pozitif ilişki bulunmuştur. Benzer
şekilde narsistik kişilik özelliği ile Facebook kullanım yoğunluğu arasında
pozitif ve anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Facebook yoğunluğunu birinci blokta
Facebook’ta kalma süresi anlamlı düzeyde yordamıştır. İkinci blokta ise tüm
değişkenler, araştırmaya katılan bireylerin Facebook yoğunluğu ölçeğinden
aldıkları puanlardaki varyansın %18’ini anlamlı bir şekilde açıklamaktadır.
İkinci adımda Facebook yoğunluğu puanlarının en güçlü yordayıcısının narsisizm
olduğu bulunmuştur. İleri araştırmalarda bu sonucun dikkate alınmasının yararlı
olacağı düşünülmektedir. Olası açıklamalar ile çalışmanın doğurguları ve
sınırlılıkları tartışılmıştır.
