Öz

Reiki, evrensel yaşam enerjisi anlamına gelen Japonca bir terimdir. Reiki, vücudun kendini iyileştirme kapasitesini güçlendirmek için uygulanan alternatif ve tamamlayıcı enerji terapilerinden biridir. Noninvaziv, non-farmakolojik, ekonomik olması, kolay uygulanması ve herhangi bir yan etkisinin olmaması nedeniyle modern tıpta sağlığı desteklemek amacıyla kullanılan bir yöntemdir. Yapılan birçok çalışmada, Reikinin ağrı, anksiyete, depresyon, stres, yorgunluk gibi bulguları azalttığı belirtilmektedir. Literatür incelendiğinde yetişkinler üzerinde çok çalışma yapılmış olmasına rağmen, çocuklarda Reiki uygulamasının etkinliğini ortaya koyan araştırma sayısı sınırlıdır. Bu makalenin amacı; enerji terapilerinden biri olan Reikinin çocuklarda nasıl ve hangi durumlarda uygulandığını incelemek ve Reikinin etkisine ilişkin elde edilen sonuçları derleyerek paylaşmaktır.

Reiki Therapy and Effects on Children

Öz

Reiki is a Japanese term meaning universal life energy. Reiki is one of the alternative and complementary energy therapies applied to strengthen the body's self-healing capacity. It is a method used in modern medicine to support health because it is noninvasive, non-pharmacological, economical, easy to apply and withouth side effects. In many studies, it is stated that Reiki reduces symptoms such as pain, anxiety, depression, stress, and fatigue. When the literature is examined, although many studies have been done on adults, the number of studies demonstrating the effectiveness of Reiki practice in children is limited. The aim of this article is; to examine how and in which situations Reiki, one of the energy therapies, is applied to children and to compile and share the results obtained regarding the effect of Reiki.
