Ötenazi - Sürdürülebilirlik Maliyet Fayda Analizi

This research aims to investigate euthanasia, the act of terminating the lives of humans and certain animals due to their poor living conditions. This study explores euthanasia within the framework of sustainability, including environmental, economic, and social aspects. To achieve this, euthanasia is examined through a cost-benefit analysis using a management accounting approach, considering its implications across the economic, environmental, and social dimensions of sustainability. Data for this study were estimated by the authors. Income and cost factors related to the presence or absence of euthanasia were identified within the economic, environmental, and social realms of sustainability, followed by a comprehensive cost-benefit analysis. It is important to note that the purpose of this analysis is not to advocate for specific decisions but rather to present a nuanced understanding of the issue and invite the reader’s perspective. The cost-benefit analysis showed that the monetary costs and income, as well as the influence of non-monetary factors, may fluctuate depending on the medical specifics of the case and the dynamics of the patient’s family profile.

Bu çalışmanın amacı insanların hatta bazı hayvanların çok kötü yaşam koşullarına sahip olmaları nedeniyle hayatlarını sonlandırma durumunu konu alan ötenazi konusunu incelemektir. Çalışmada ötenazi sürdürülebilirlik kavramı ile ilişkilendirilerek çevresel, ekonomik ve sosyal sürdürülebilirlik açısından ele alınmıştır. Bu doğrultuda ötenazi sürdürülebilirliğin ekonomik, çevresel ve sosyal alt boyutları çerçevesinde yönetim muhasebesi yaklaşımıyla maliyet fayda analizine tabi tutularak örneklenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu çalışmadaki veriler yazarlar tarafından tahmini olarak oluşturulmuştur. Ardından, ötenazinin var olması ve var olmaması durumu dikkate alınarak ekonomik, çevresel ve sosyal sürdürülebilirlik açısından gelir ve maliyet unsurları belirlenmiş ve maliyet fayda analizi yapılmıştır. Analizin amacı şu veya bu kararın verilmesi gerektiğini işaret etmek yerine konuyu olası tüm boyutlarıyla ele alıp ortaya koymak ve okuyucunun görüşüne sunmaktır. Yapılan maliyet fayda analizi ile ortaya çıkan parasal maliyet ve gelir kalemlerinin tutar olarak büyüklüğü ve parasal olmayan gelir ve maliyet kalemlerinin etkisinin vakanın tıbbı özelliğine ve hastanın çevresindeki yakınlarının profiline bağlı olarak değişebileceği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
