Öz Yeterlilik, Mesleki Sonuç Beklentisi ve Kariyer Stresi İlişkisi: Havacılık Öğrencileri Üzerine Yapısal Bir Modelleme

Öz

Bu çalışmada üniversite öğrencilerinin öz yeterlilik düzeylerinin, kariyer stresi üzerindeki hem doğrudan hem de mesleki sonuç beklentisi aracılığıyla dolaylı etkisi araştırılmıştır. Araştırmanın kuramsal altyapısında Sosyal Bilişsel Kariyer Kuramı (Social Cognitive Career Theory - SCCT) temel alınmış ve öz yeterliliğin hem doğrudan kariyer stresine hem de mesleki sonuç beklentisi üzerinden dolaylı etkisi test edilmiştir. Öz yeterliliği ölçmek amacıyla Sherer ve arkadaşları (1982), mesleki sonuç beklentisini ölçmek amacıyla McWhirter, Rasheed ve Crothers (2000), kariyer stresini ölçmek amacıyla ise Choi ve arkadaşlarının (2011) geliştirdiği ölçeklerden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma, Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat Üniversitesi Gazipaşa Havacılık ve Uzay Bilimleri Fakültesi ile Mustafa Rahmi Büyükballı Meslek Yüksekokulu’na kayıtlı toplam 392 havacılık öğrencisiyle yürütülmüştür. Veriler klasik yüz yüze anket tekniği ile toplanmış; analizlerde SPSS ve Andrew Hayes’in PROCESS makro eklentisi kullanılmıştır. Yapılan analiz sonuçlarına göre öz yeterliliğin hem mesleki sonuç beklentisi hem de kariyer stresi üzerinde anlamlı ve doğrudan etkisi olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca öz yeterliliğin mesleki sonuç beklentisi aracılığıyla kariyer stresi üzerinde dolaylı ve istatistiksel olarak anlamlı etkisi olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu bulgular, bireylerin kariyer sürecinde öz yeterlilik algılarının ve olumlu mesleki beklentilerinin stres yönetiminde kritik bir rol oynadığını ortaya koymaktadır.

Relationship between Self-Efficacy, Career Outcome Expectations and Career Stress: A Structural Modeling on Aviation Students

Öz

This study examined the direct and indirect effects of self-efficacy levels on career stress among university students. Based on Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT), the study tested the direct effect of self-efficacy on career stress and its indirect effect through career outcome expectations. The scale developed by Sherer and colleagues (1982) was used to measure self-efficacy; the scale developed by McWhirter, Rasheed, and Crothers (2000) was used to measure occupational outcome expectations; and the scale developed by Choi and colleagues (2011) was used to measure career stress. A total of 392 aviation students enrolled at Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University's Gazipaşa Faculty of Aviation and Space Sciences and Mustafa Rahmi Büyükballı Vocational School participated in the research. Data were collected using a basic face to face survey; SPSS and the PROCESS macro add-on developed by Andrew Hayes were used for the analyses. The results revealed that self-efficacy significantly and directly affects professional outcome expectations and career stress. Additionally, self-efficacy was found to have an indirect and statistically significant effect on career stress through professional outcome expectations. These findings reveal that perceptions of self-efficacy and positive professional expectations play a critical role in managing stress during one's career.
