Eğitim Fakültesi Öğrencilerinin Akademik Kariyer Farkındalıklarının Araştırılması

Öz

Bu çalışma bir devlet üniversitesinin Eğitim Fakültesinin sekiz farklı bölümünde okumakta olan son sınıf öğrencilerinin, lisans üstü eğitime devam etme, yüksek öğretim kurumlarında akademisyen olabilme ve akademik kariyer yapma ile ilgili farkındalıkları hakkındaki görüşlerini ve düşüncelerini öğrenmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Veri toplamak amacıyla Dağyar, Kasalak ve Uğurlu (2021) tarafından geliştirilmiş olan “Yüksek Öğretimde Akademik Kariyer Farkındalığı” ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Ölçek 31 madde ve 4 alt boyuttan oluşmaktadır. Çalışmaya, sekiz farklı bölümündeki anabilim dallarından (Yabancı Diller Eğitimi Bölümü, Türkçe / Sosyal Bilimler Eğitimi Bölümü, Özel Eğitim Bölümü, Temel Eğitim Bölümü, Eğitim Bilimleri Bölümü, Bilgisayar ve Öğretim Teknolojileri Eğitimi, Güzel Sanatlar Eğitimi Bölümü, Matematik ve Fen Bilimleri Eğitimi Bölümü) toplam 624 öğrenci gönüllülük esasına göre katılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSSv21 programı ile analiz edilmiş ve elde edilen bulgular tartışılmıştır. Veri sonuçlarına göre katılımcıların akademik kariyer farkındalıkların yeterli düzeyde olmadığı, hatta düşük düzeyde olduğu, cinsiyet ve bölüm bazında değerlendirildiğinde de aralarında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark ortaya çıktığı görülmüştür.

Investigation of Academic Career Awareness of Students at the Faculty of Education

Öz

This study aims to unearth the opinions and thoughts of 4th grade students majoring at eight varied departments of the Faculty of Education of a state university about their awareness of continuing postgraduate education, becoming an academician in higher education institutions and having an academic career. The “Academic Career Awareness in Higher Education” scale developed by Dağyar, Kasalak, and Uğurlu (2021) was implemented to gather data. The scale consists of 31 items and 4 sub-dimensions. A total of 624 students from eight different departments (Department of Foreign Languages Education, Department of Turkish / Social Sciences Education, Department of Special Education, Department of Elementary Education, Department of Educational Sciences, Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology, Department of Fine Arts Education, Department of Mathematics and Science Education) participated in the study on a voluntary basis. The data obtained were analysed with the SPSSv21 program, and the findings were discussed. According to the data results, it was seen that the participants' academic career awareness was not at an adequate level, even at a low level, and there was a statistically significant difference between them when evaluated on the basis of gender and department
