This article provides a comprehensive review of using artificial intelligence in universities. The potential of artificial intelligence in education for personalized learning, data-based decision-making, accelerating academic studies, and developing solutions to social problems is discussed. In addition, strategies for the difficulties that universities may encounter when integrating artificial intelligence, such as infrastructural deficiencies, ethical issues, and access inequalities, are discussed. This study is a descriptive research and focuses on the use of artificial intelligence in universities; it outlines how universities should develop an adaptation strategy in this process by addressing the possible effects, opportunities, and challenges on learning methods and processes. The study can also be considered as a guide to understanding the impact of artificial intelligence on universities of the future and to optimize the role of this technology in educational processes.
