Öğretmenlerin İş Doyumunu Yordamada Liderlik Uygulamaları ve Bireysel Özelliklerin Rolü: Özel Okullarda Bir Araştırma

Öz

Bu araştırmada, özel okullarda görev yapan öğretmenlerin iş doyumu ile okul yöneticilerinin liderlik uygulamaları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. İlişkisel yöntemde tasarlanan araştırmanın örneklemi, özel okullarda görev yapan 202 öğretmenden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada; Kişisel Bilgi Formu, İş Tatmini Ölçeği ve Liderlik Uygulamaları Ölçeği ile veri toplanmıştır. Veri analizinde betimsel istatistikler, Pearson Momentler Çarpım Korelasyon Katsayısı ve Çoklu Doğrusal Regresyon Analizi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular; özel okullarda görev yapan öğretmenlere göre okul yöneticilerinin orta düzeyde liderlik uygulamalarında bulunduğunu ve öğretmenlerin iş doyumunun orta düzeyde olduğunu göstermiştir. Okul yöneticilerinin liderlik uygulamaları ile öğretmenlerin iş doyumu arasında anlamlı, pozitif yönlü, orta düzeyde bir ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir. Okul yöneticilerinin liderlik uygulamaları ile öğretmenlerin cinsiyet, eğitim durumu ve çalışma yılı değişkenleri, öğretmenlerin iş doyumundaki değişimin %33’ünü açıklamaktadır. Liderlik uygulamalarının takım çalışmasına odaklanma boyutunun, özel okullarda görev yapan öğretmenlerin iş doyumunun anlamlı bir yordayıcısı olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Cinsiyet, eğitim durumu ve çalışma yılı öğretmenlerin iş doyumunda belirleyici bir değişken değildir. Araştırma sonucunda özel okullar bağlamında yöneticilerin işbirliğini teşvik etmesi ve takım çalışmasına odaklanmalarının öğretmenlerin iş doyumunu etkilemede önemli bir rolü olduğu görülmüştür.

The Role of Personal Characteristics and Leadership Practices in Predicting Teachers’ Job Satisfaction: A Study in Private Schools

Öz

This study aimed to examine the relationship between teachers' job satisfaction in private schools and the leadership practices of school principals. The study sample, which was designed using a correlational method, consisted of 202 teachers working in private schools. Data were collected using a Personal Information Form, the Job Satisfaction, and the Leadership Practices Scale. Descriptive statistics, Pearson’s Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient, and Multiple Linear Regression Analysis were employed for data analysis. The findings revealed that school principals in private schools demonstrated moderate levels of leadership practices, and teachers' job satisfaction levels were also moderate. A significant, positive, and moderate relationship was found between school principals' leadership practices and teachers' job satisfaction. School principals' leadership practices and teachers' gender, educational status, and years of service explained 33% of the variance in job satisfaction. Among the leadership dimensions, “Enabling Others to Act” was found to be a significant predictor of job satisfaction among teachers working in private schools. Conversely, gender, educational status, and years of service were not significant predictors of teachers' job satisfaction. Overall, the research indicates that principals’ encouragement of cooperation and emphasis on teamwork play an essential role in enhancing teachers' job satisfaction in private schools.
