From history until today, children have been important in every period. Behaviors towards children
have differed from society from time to time. Throughout history, children have been subjected to bad
behavior as well as to good treatment. One of these bad behaviors, and the most common, is physical
abuse. This subject has attracted the attention of different disciplines from psychology to sociology,
pedagogy and child development. In this article, it is aimed to examine physical abuse experienced in
early childhood. In this respect, the physical abuse phenomenon suffered by children and age, gender,
family ranking of children, parental education level variables were to be examined with a scientific
method. As a result of the research, it was determined that 10.944% of the children who were
physcically abused constitute the 12 age group and 10.45% constitute the age group of 5 and 8, 0.90%
of the children constitute the 17 age group. It was obversed that 45.77% of the children who physically
abused were the first child in the family, 27.3% were the second child and 18.4% were the third child.
Within the scope of the education level variabla perspective, it was concluded that the education levels
of the parents of children in the 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 age groups were closer to each other. Parents of
