Various psychological and behavioral disorders occur in digital natives who are exposed to or witness cyberbullying. The characteristic features of new and social media have resulted in the addition of the concept and phenomenon of cyberbullying to the types of bullying and aggression. Cyberbullying progresses in the form of negative behaviors such as lying, introducing oneself as someone else, hiding one's identity, threatening, mocking, slandering, insulting, gossiping, intimidating and displaying other people's pictures in a virtual environment without their consent. Feelings such as helplessness, anger, sadness, anxiety, loneliness and disappointment may arise in individuals who are exposed to cyberbullying on new and social media. The study aims to examine the various psychological and behavioral effects that may occur in individuals who are exposed to or witness cyberbullying on digital natives and the defense mechanisms developed to avoid being exposed to cyberbullying. In the study, the quantitative research method of communication and social sciences, survey, is used. According to the findings of the study, individuals exposed to cyberbullying experience psychological and behavioral disorders such as anxiety and depression, decreased academic performance, skipping school and being absent; constantly thinking about the incident; feeling very sad; losing interest in everything around them; staying away from the internet and experiencing concentration problems. According to the study, individuals have knowledge about the phenomenon of cyberbullying and cyberbullying and various defense mechanisms to avoid being exposed to cyberbullying. It is thought that the study is important in terms of examining the types of cyberbullying that occur on new and social media and explaining the psychological and behavioral effects of cyberbullying.
