Decision-making and risk-taking behaviors have significant influence on private and working lives of individuals. Furthermore, differences can be seen between individuals' decision-making and risk-taking behaviors. Moreover, from its birth on an individual becomes a part of a group which is called the generation formed by all people born in the same years. There are some differences among generations in terms of various characteristics. However, individuals from different generations have to live and work together in almost every area of modern life. Therefore, it is significant to understand the differences between generations. Although there are many studies related to generational differences, there are still many behavioral characteristics awaiting examination of possible relationships such as decision-making and risk-taking. The study aims to produce information that would set light to the decision-making and risk-taking behaviors of generations X and Y. The universe of the quantitative research is composed of the academicians and students of Akdeniz University. The data are collected with online survey method and analyzed with SPSS 21 software. The findings show that there are significant differences between generations X and Y in terms of rational and spontaneous decision-making styles and risk taking propensity.
