The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of literature circle method on the reading comprehension skills of seventh-grade students in secondary school. The study group of the research consists of seventh - grade middle school students in Istanbul, in the academic year of 2016 - 2017. The sample of the study is a total of 52 students in the experimental and control groups. 26 of these students are in the experiment and 26 of them are in the control group. The implementation lasted 6 weeks. In the experimental group literature circle group exercises were implemented in Turkish class hours and in the control group individual reading study was implemented. According to pre-test and post-test results, the reading comprehension of the students in the experimental group increased significantly compared to those in the control group.
