Dr. Seema Arif is Associate Professor in Department of Education at School of Social Sciences & Humanities in University of Management & Technology, Lahore, Pakistan. Seema served as EX Director Graduate studies & Chairperson of the same department after earning her PhD in 2013. She is also a fellow of Collaboration for Teacher Excellence & Research program from George Mason University USA. Previously, Seema has worked as assistant professor in the Business School of the University of Central Punjab, Head of Psychology Department, and Director Quality Enhancement Cell. Prior to that Seema has also worked as research coordinator in Association for Academic Quality, and authored Social Studies Curriculum for primary classes along with textbooks and supplementary material.
Grounded in Psychology, Dr. Seema believes in interdisciplinary research; she has a vast experience of teaching and research in organizational behavior and educational leadership and management. Her specialization area is Quality Assurance in Higher Education. She volunteers for many social and humanitarian causes with focus on education for all improving the access, quality, and equity in education, especially in reference to inclusive education. She is honorary member of board of studies of very important programs, 1) PhD Medical Education, University of Health Sciences & 2) Graduate programs of Institute of Management Sciences. She has arranged many seminars and conferences in the universities and institutions, she has been associated with. Currently she is the founder and chief editor of the academic journal ‘UMT Education Review’.
Her current research projects address problems related to quality assurance in higher education, including accreditation, ranking and quality of work life of school teachers and higher education workers. She volunteers for many social and humanitarian causes with focus on rights, peace and tolerance. As a renowned educationist, academician, researcher and policy maker, Dr. Seema has represented Pakistan in various international conferences in the universities like MIT & Harvard, USA, University of Toronto, Carleton & University of Alberta, Canada and many other institutions in Turkey, Iran, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and UAE.
