Dr Aliru Olajide Mustapha, currently works as an Associate Professor in Chemistry at the Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, Nigeria where he teaches and supervises students’ research.
Dr Mustapha began his academic career with a B.Sc. (Hons) in Chemistry from the University of Ilorin in 1987. In the same University, under the supervision of Professor O, Olaofe he obtained his M.Sc. in 1993 worked on the Physicochemical Changes in Nigerian Chillies during Ripening. He returned to the UK in 2006 on a scholarship to the University of Nottingham to work on the novel Synthesis of Inhibition of the Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Cell Wall Biosynthesis under the supervision of Professor Neil Thomas to obtained Masters of Research (MRes) Chemistry in 2008. In 2009, he moved to the School of Chemistry at the Notingham Trent University in UK, for his PhD under the supervision Prof. Jason Birkett and Prof. Mike Coffey where he worked on the Fate and Behavior of Drugs in the Environment and he obtained his PhD (April, 2013).
