Industrial Engineering System Dynamics

Bio

I hold degrees in industrial engineering at the BSc, MSc, and PhD levels. I earned my PhD from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2003. Following that, I dedicated three years to working as an industrial engineering faculty member in Cyprus. In 2006, I transitioned to a role as an expert in system dynamics at the Accelerated Learning Laboratory, The Australian Graduate School of Management, The University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, where I served as a postdoctoral research associate for three years. In 2009, I assumed the position of assistant professor of industrial engineering at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, where I served until the end of September 2023. I was granted the title of Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering by the Turkish Council of Higher Education in 2014.

Throughout my career, I have made significant contributions to the field of system dynamics with a focus on areas such as the main elements of dynamic complexity, generalized stock control formulations, information delays, goal formation, adaptive goal-setting structures, interactive simulation games, dynamic decision-making, mathematical models of The Beer Game, block diagrams of generic system dynamics models, inventory control on supply networks, and medical and health applications. In summary, I have four articles in System Dynamics Review, the flagship journal of the system dynamics area, and 23 conference proceeding papers presented at the international conferences organized by the System Dynamics Society. My commitment to research and academia continues to drive my passion for advancing knowledge in the system dynamics field.
