RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Professor, China Agricultural University, Department of Applied Chemistry (2007.7 - present)
• Designed and synthesized new ionic liquids and applied them in pesticide residue analysis.
Postdoctoral Fellow, University of Idaho, Chemistry Department (2004.9 - 2007.6)
• Designed and synthesized novel ionic liquids (salts) and predicted their thermodynamic properties.
Postdoctoral Fellow, Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Chemistry (Beijing), Professor Buxing Han’s group (2002.9 - 2004.8)
• Synthesized new ionic liquids based on guanidinium cation and used them as media for organic reactions.
• Developed a novel approach to use ionic liquids as a biphasic system in combination with an organic solvent or water in chemical processes or extraction procedures.
Chinese Academy of Sciences, Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (1996.9 - 2002.7)
• Designed and synthesized new compounds with guanidine functional group as host molecules and studied their molecular recognition ability for nucleotides and dicarboxylic acids.
• Accomplished the separation and purification of bioactive natural products.
• Extracted essential oil from traditional medicinal plants by steam distillation and supercritical CO2 fluid. Analyzed their components by GC-MS.
