Bio

Fatin Aliah Phang is a fellow at the Centre for Engineering Education (CEE), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). She is also a Professor at the School of Education, Faculty of Social Sciences Humanities, UTM. Currently she is the Chair of the School of Education. She joined UTM in 2003 as a Tutor and later continued her study in the field of Physics Education and graduated with a Phd in Education at the University of Cambridge, UK in 2009. Her research area is on Physics Problem Solving, Metacognition, Environmental Education focusing on Low Carbon Society, STEM Education, Educational Research (Qualitative) and Engineering Education. She has widely published and led research projects in STEM Education, Environmental Education and Engineering Education. Her academic and research achievement makes her among the few social scientists in the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM), Young Scientists Network-Academy of Sciences Malaysia (YSN-ASM) and Global Young Academy (GYA). She received several national and international awards such as Okayama ESD Award (Global Prize) 2018, UNU Global RCE Award for Outstanding Flagship Project (Climate Change) 2015, National Intellectual Property Award (Copyright) 2018, and other exhibition awards such as ITEX, PECIPTA, INATEX, I-PHEX and others. For her outstanding research and community works, she is recognized as the Top Malaysian Scientists Award 2019.
