Ramazan Çağlar received the B.Sc., and M.Sc. diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Istanbul Technical University in 1984 and 1987 respectively, and Ph.D. degrees in Graduate School of Science, Engineering and Technology of the same university in 1999. He accepted as Postdoctoral Researcher by the School of Electric and Computer Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA in 2001. He has conducted his research activities for two years in this university. In 1984 he joined the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Istanbul Technical University as a research assistant, where he is presently an Assoc. Professor. His research interests are power system modeling, smart grid application, research on distributed generations, reliability analysis, the electricity markets and fault diagnosis, risk management and signal processing. His has published article in some referred journals, and conference proceedings.
Dr. Çağlar is a member of IEEE, IEEE-PES, a member of CIGRE, a member of Turkish National Committee on Illumination (ATMK), and a National Chamber of Turkish Electrical Engineering (EMO).
