DEVELOPMENT OF FIELD EXPERIENCE INSTRUMENT FOR ELEMENTARY PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS: A RELIABILITY AND VALIDITY STUDY

Abstract

This current study aimed to examine the validity and reliability study of Turkish form of the Field Experience Instrument for Elementary Pre-service Teachers developed by researchers. The instrument included four sub-dimensions. These are practice process, university supervisor, self-evaluation and school management. The instrument includes 21 items and placed on a 5-point Likert type of scale. Cronbach’s alpha coefficients were calculated as .86 for the Field Experience Instrument for Elementary Pre-service Teachers, respectively. Cronbach’s alpha coefficients for the sub-scales were found as .82, .79, .73 and .74, respectively. Results of the exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis revealed that the instrument is valid and reliable.

SINIF ÖĞRETMENİ ADAYLARI İÇİN ÖĞRETMENLİK UYGULAMASI ÖLÇEĞİ GELİŞTİRİLMESİ: GEÇERLİK VE GÜVENİRLİK ÇALIŞMASI

Abstract

Bu araştırma, Öğretmenlik Uygulaması Ölçeği’nin geliştirilmesi kapsamında geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışmalarının yapılmasını amaçlamaktadır. Geliştirilen ölçekte yer alan 4 alt boyut sırasıyla uygulama, üniversite öğretim elemanı, öz değerlendirme ve okul yönetimi olarak isimlendirilmiştir. Her bir alt boyut için hesaplanan Cronbach alfa güvenirlik katsayısı sırasıyla .829, .798, .731 ve .742 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Ölçeğin bütünü için güvenirlik katsayısının .867 olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ölçek 21 maddeden oluşmaktadır ve 5’li Likert tipindedir. Buna ek olarak, açımlayıcı faktör analizinde ortaya çıkan yapının ne derece uygun olduğunu belirlemek amacıyla yapılan doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonuçları ortaya çıkan modeli kabul edilebilir düzeyde olduğunu göstermiştir (Büyüköztürk ve diğ., 2004; Yılmaz ve Çelik, 2009). Elde edilen sonuçlar, Öğretmenlik Uygulaması Ölçeği’nin geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğunu göstermiştir.
