Akdeniz Medical Journal (AMJ; Akd Tıp D / Akd Med J) aims to contribute to the presentation, dissemination, and sharing of research conducted in the fields related to health sciences within national and international scientific communities, and in this context, to also contribute to the publicity of Türkiye.
The AMJ is freely accessible online by all relevant medical institutions and information centers in Türkiye and around the world. Our editorial board continues its efforts to increase the number of national and international indexes in which our journal is included.
AMJ is the official scientific publication of the Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine, and is a peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary medical journal published in accordance with a continuous publication model. It is indexed in TÜBİTAK-ULAKBİM Turkish Medical Index, TürkMedline, Sobiad, Index Copernicus, and Academindex.
Primarily, original research articles (basic, clinical, and epidemiological) are considered for evaluation in AMJ. In addition, editorials, review articles, case reports, letters to the editor, technical notes, articles on medical education, articles on the history of medicine, biographies, etc., are also accepted. Submitted manuscripts must not have been previously published in written or electronic form, nor submitted to another journal or electronic platform for publication.
The ISSN number of AMJ during its print publication period was 1300-1779, and as of August 8, 2019, it has been changed to 2687-2781 as the journal continues its publication life electronically. The journal publishes in Turkish and English. In Turkish manuscripts, care should be taken to preserve the integrity of the Turkish language, and the latest editions of the Turkish Language Association’s Spelling Guide and Turkish Dictionary should be followed. Authors are encouraged to use Turkish scientific terminology as much as possible. For this purpose, authors may refer to the Turkish Language Association’s “Medical Terms Guide” or other medical terminology dictionaries.
